Tree planting drive, August 2026

Over two days in August, ninety volunteers from four community groups planted 1,200 indigenous seedlings along a degraded stretch of the lake shore.

Species were chosen with the county forestry officer for their tolerance of seasonal flooding. Each group has taken responsibility for watering and replacing losses through the first dry season.
